The preparation time before an EEG is about 10-15 minutes. The room is typically very quiet and not much small talk happens. This is intentional on my part since the EEG works best when I get to Stage I and Stage II sleep. The deeper my state of rest, the more accurate the data is for the epileptologist when my EEG is evaluated – which happens immediately after the EEG has been completed.
