A single wire is also placed on the backside of each hand prior to the EEG. Interestingly, I have had my right arm suddenly jerk during an EEG. This has happened twice, and it has almost been like an uncontrolled muscle spasm. For me, it usually happens when I am getting sleepy during the EEG testing.
