The jar on the far right contains a gel used to help each sensor stay in place. If I were to grow my hair long, it would be much more difficult to properly locate each sensor and get each wire to stay in place without falling off my scalp. That is why I make sure I get a haircut prior to my trip to New York City for my quarterly EEG.
