The start of the 2007 Race for Hope as people march towards the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. The attendance at the 2007 Race for Hope seemed to me to be much greater than in 2006. Freedom Plaza on Pennsylvania Avenue was packed. I mean PACKED. When I arrived there at 8:15 AM, there were roughly twice as many people at Freedom Plaza than I remember last year. This increase in people means that there is that much more awareness about what I call “the underground illness."
