This is the room that overlooks the MRI machine. This photo was taken immediately following my MRI. At this point, all data is being loaded onto the LAN (Local Area Network) at NIH (the National Institutes of Health), where it is immediately available for my oncology team to review. This is what allows an MRI to be done just a few hours before meeting with my neuro-oncologist. In this day and age, film versions of the MRI no longer need to be printed. Instead, MRI’s are reviewed electronically, which greatly reduces time and effort on the part of the oncology team.
