Nancy Thomas is a master in Arts & Crafts era design, specifically in the area of design & manufacturing of handcrafted wool rugs. She focuses on the custom design of rugs for individual clients, having done so for over twenty years.
Venturing out into new territory, Nancy began art classes in Montreat, North Carolina in 2005. From some of her earliest human figure classes, Nancy drew these sketches in timed intervals with her class. These particular works were done on 5/5/05, the very day and time that friend David Welch underwent brain surgery at NYU. Thus the name of these works, Cinco de Mayo.
Being a brain tumor survivor herself, this art has the power of giving and expressing in creative ways, all as a form of healing prayer.
